Aparna Venkatachalam is the Program Manager of the UN Global Compact Network Canada, and a Senior Consultant at B.Accountability. Aparna has over 6 years of international work experience in the area of Corporate Social Responsibility in a broad range of industries.
Prior to joining the Canadian chapter of the UN Global Compact, Aparna was working as Project Manager at CSR Asia’s Europe Office in Edinburgh, U.K., delivering sustainability related projects for corporate clients. She is experienced in research, stakeholder engagement, community development, socio-economic impact assessment, and employee engagement. Aparna has also worked for a while in Mumbai, India, at the EdelGive Foundation, where she was responsible for undertaking research and due-diligence of the company’s investees in the area of Education and Livelihoods.
Aparna holds a Master’s Degree in Development Studies from York University in Toronto, Canada, with a specialization in Corporate Social Responsibility and a Bachelor’s Degree also from York University in International Development Studies and Anthropology.
Aparna is passionate about engaging businesses to create mutually beneficial solutions to complex development challenges in the business environment. In her spare time, Aparna also volunteers with the Foundation of Environmental Stewardship, a youth-led climate change education organization based in Toronto.
