How to Join

STEP 1: BUSINESS OR NON-BUSINESS

  • Company — any legal entity engaging in business, such as a corporation or partnership, with at least 250 full-time direct employees and/or any state-owned companies
  • SME (Small and Medium Enterprise) — same as a Company but with less than 250 and more than 10 full-time employees

NON-BUSINESS

  • Academic institutions
  • Business associations
  • Cities and municipalities
  • Civil society organizations
  • Foundations
  • Labour organizations
  • Public sector organizations

Please note that due to administrative capacity, the UN Global Compact is currently not accepting new applications from organizations with under ten employees.

STEP 5: SELECT YOUR ENGAGEMENT TIER WITH THE LOCAL NETWORK – GLOBAL COMPACT NETWORK CANADA (OPTIONAL)

Once your application has been accepted by the UN Global Compact (usually takes around 7-14 business days), you have the option to strengthen your engagement with the local network. All UN Global Compact Canadian Signatories, Participants and the Subsidiaries can choose from the three available tiers: Premium, Patron, and Visionary for enhanced local network engagement.

How to Engage in Canada

The Global Compact Network Canada (GCNC) is your ground support when engaging with the UN Global Compact. In Canada, the GCNC is spearheading the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the 10 Principles of the UN Global Compact. In doing so, GCNC unifies and builds the capacity of the Canadian private sector to embrace sustainable business practices by convening and accelerating opportunities for multi-stakeholder collaboration.
